About 50 words

Pocketsay is a voice assistant for Android, in early testing. Ask "Hey Proto, what did I miss?" and it reads out your WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and email alerts, newest first. It drafts replies in your voice and sends after you approve the draft. Its memory is an encrypted database on your phone.

About 100 words

Pocketsay is a voice assistant for Android, built by Bhanu Avadutha and in early testing (version 0.3.0). Say "Hey Proto, what did I miss?" and the assistant, Proto, reads your WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and email alerts back, newest first. Ask it to reply and it writes the message in your voice, reads it back, and sends after you approve the draft. Chats you choose are saved in an encrypted database on the phone. When you ask a question, saved message context goes to Groq or Google Gemini, using your own API key. Hindi and Telugu are in progress.

Names and founder quotes

Names, spelled right

Pocketsay is the app. One word, capital P, never "Pocket Say" or "PocketSay". The lowercase "pocketsay" appears only inside the logo.

Proto is the assistant inside Pocketsay. Say "Pocketsay's assistant, Proto", not "the Proto app".

"Hey Proto" is the wake word. Keep it in Latin letters in every language.

Quotes you can use

"It asks before it acts. Every message is read back and sent only on your yes."
Bhanu Avadutha, founder of Pocketsay
"Some things don't work yet, and I'd rather you hear that from me than find out the hard way."
Bhanu Avadutha, founder of Pocketsay

Website materials

The app and flat identity use the colors above. The website adds warm paper #F6F5F0, ink #20201E, editorial violet #5841CE and pale sage #DCE0C8. These are supporting surfaces, not replacement logo colors.

Type: Self-hosted Manrope for text and display, JetBrains Mono for release details and transcripts. Georgia italic adds selective editorial emphasis on the website, with Times New Roman as its serif fallback. The Manrope fallback uses metric-adjusted local sans faces, then the system sans stack. Headlines use sentence case; compact utility labels may use capitals.

Usage rules

  • Don't stretch, recolour or outline the logo. Leave clear space equal to a quarter of the mark's height on all sides.
  • Don't use the logo in a way that suggests another company endorses Pocketsay, or that Pocketsay endorses it.
  • App icons visible in screenshots (WhatsApp, Telegram, Gmail, Flipkart and others) belong to their owners.

"For Android 10 or newer. Tested on a Poco F4.""Works on all phones."
"Hindi and Telugu are in progress.""Supports Indian languages."
