0.3.0
Early testingCurrent versionSigned release buildBuild 3 · 1 October 2026 · about 20 MB
The version early testers are installing today. It is a signed release build for Android 10 or newer on arm64 phones.
Added
- "Hey Proto" is detected on your phone, with no account and no cloud audio. It works with the screen off, and saying it again interrupts an answer.
- "What did I miss?" answers newest first, five at a time, then asks "Shall I go on to the older ones?"
- Drafts for WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and email. Pocketsay finds the contact, writes the message in your voice, reads it back, and sends after you approve the draft, with your phone unlocked.
- Dashboard with By app and Timeline views, real app icons, "N today" badges, and tap-to-open.
- Activity log, filterable by kind and by app.
- Privacy controls. Switch chats and apps on or off. Banking and payment apps start off. One-time codes and card numbers are masked before saving. App notifications are deleted after 30 days. "Delete all saved data" works in one tap.
- Health page with Fix buttons for notification access, battery and autostart, permissions, the wake word and the last capture. Built around Xiaomi and HyperOS.
- Your model, your key. Groq or Google Gemini, using your own API key.
- Storage. An encrypted SQLCipher database in the app's private storage, with its key in the Android Keystore. Android backup is off.
Changed
- A signed release build with a new app ID,
com.pocketsay.app. It installs as a new app. Your permissions, API key and chat choices don't carry over, and an earlier test build stays on your phone until you remove it.
In beta
- Phone tasks. For example, "Search iPhone 18 on Flipkart and tell me the price." Beta safeguards are designed to stop before purchases and payments, avoid credentials and sensitive fields, and refuse financial apps. Tasks stop after 25 steps and have a Stop button. Screen-label checks can miss things; review each step.
In progress
- Hindi and Telugu. Both voices are installed and confirmed on our test phone. Replies that follow the language you speak aren't tested yet.
Known limits
- Gmail shows subjects and previews only.
- Group chats open the app, not one person's chat.
- Free API plans have rate limits.
- On Xiaomi phones, App Lock can hide WhatsApp notifications from Pocketsay.
- After a restart, open Pocketsay once.
- Sending needs your phone unlocked.
- Some phones block installs from a browser. The download page has a USB route.
- Tested on one phone: a Poco F4 with Android 14 and HyperOS.
